Transform Interview with Maggie Mayhem

For those who don’t know you, who is Maggie?

For those that do not know me I would say I am an ordinary girl walking with an extraordinary God to figure out who I am. I struggle to answer this question as my answer is always changing depending on the season I am in. But right now, I am a girl trying to figure out what life has to offer through the lens of Christ. I love people and devote myself to philanthropy work. I am a UK-based content creator and presenter and host.

What do you want people to know about you?

I want people to know I don’t have it all together. I don’t know it all. I am just like you. The only difference is, I know who I walk with and He gives me peace and joy through it all.

What does the word transformation mean to you?

Transformation means another chance. It’s such a beautiful thing though a lot of people hate it because it kills a lot of things during the process. The word transformation gives hope. It shows that no state’s ever permanent.

You’ve transformed spiritually, what has that process been like?

The process has been simple but not easy. Especially this year, I’ve understood that following Jesus and allowing him to lead you will cost.

Deciding to change is the simple part but what’s simple isn’t always easy. This year I had to understand who Maggie is outside who I thought Maggie was. I had to allow God to take me on a journey of discovery to know who I am. Transformations usually require letting go of old things and habits to replace them with new things and habits.

This year I’ve had to let go of friends, job opportunities, and mindsets and allowed God to give me what His plan and purpose for me is. It’s been tough because a lot of God's mysteries are revealed from a place of consecration.

Consecration is often a place in a place of isolation. Isolation is not a nice place for a person who is so used to being surrounded by people but it’s that place a new version of me was birthed.

What’s the biggest change you’ve gone through since giving your life to Christ?

The biggest change was moving from knowing Jesus died for my sins to allowing him to also be my lord and savior. It’s 2 different processes. Moving from salvation to sanctification is a change we are not often ready for. It’s a change I wasn’t ready for because it meant allowing God into the intricate details of my life.

This can be hard because I allow him to order every step I take and sometimes them steps aren’t fun. There have been times I’ve gotten ready to go to a work event & the Holy Spirit tells me not to go. A lot of these instances would’ve been the biggest events I would’ve attended in my career. So learning to bring him in & then submit to what he says.

How do you walk in transformation when things from the past whether it’s people or situations pop up?

You just walk. The past makes room for the present. therefore the past will always show up in one way or another and that’s not a bad thing. Perspective is everything. Your past can serve as a reminder that you are no longer where you once were or you can allow it to serve as a glass box. The choice is yours, but all you have to do is decide what you want.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone on their transformation journey?

Know your why. Your why is what will supply the vision. The bible says without vision the people perish. When you understand the importance of your transformation you will be willing to stand through the process! Your why will push you, it will encourage you, convict you, guide you, and above all direct you.
