All things Pertaining to Summer 2023 Fashion Trends & Predictions

Summer is soon approaching which means it's time to talk about authentic trends and intentional staples for 2023! Throughout this article, you'll discover your sense of style and what complements the expression of who you are and how you would like to show up this summer no matter what city you're in. With the past Paris fashion week SS23 being held in September 2022 we are truly in for both surprising trends and expected staples to reappear on the surface stepping out of winter into the new season.

Foresight - Style Predictions

Pay close attention because these are the current trend predictions we believe you’ll be seeing more of this summer.

1 -

Casually Simple

Oversized jogging bottoms and parachute trousers are back again with cute cropped racer tops. Styled with medium-sized chunky gold hooped earrings alongside the well-known quiet luxury staple handbag ‘Le Bambino’ from the Jacquemus SS23 ready-to-wear collection “LE RAPHIA”.

This mini leather handbag comes in a plethora of colors, to be exact 19 different variations, and is set to be a bestseller, especially after the experience of the serine show.

Parachute, cargos, and joggers your wardrobe must haves.

2 -

Smart Elegance

The new term 'Quiet Luxury’ is making its rounds as a select few live a life of a more toned down and minimalist look.

This focuses more on attention to detail by consumers featuring high-quality materials and exceptional tailoring without limitations on price points. We can expect this trend of ‘Quiet Luxury’ to increase as we see more of the lifestyle through social media attached to this thought process of shopping.

Quiet luxury is the trend of this summer.

3 -

Black Royalty

This one is not a prediction on race to be clear it's more of a prediction on excellence! A re-emergence is going to happen with young black designers who have intentionally dedicated time, skills, and a lot of effort into their new collections this 2023, reaching nations beyond their hometowns. This re-emergence is solely going to be based on dedication, unpredictable newness, integrity, narratives, and exposure beyond the masses.

We've seen examples of past widespread, viral & still growing young designers from 2020 the likes of Bianca Saunders menswear designer, Jedidiah Duyile founder of Loud Brand Studio, Anifa Mvuemba founder of Hanifa & Mary-Ann Msengi founder of Farai London. The question is are you one of these new young upcoming designers yet to be discovered in this year of 2023?

Hanifa clothing always gives!

4 -

Pop Of Colour

We are still in the era of bright traffic light-stopping colours we can neither run nor hide from this trend, it is truly here to stay! Since 2021 brands such as Attico and Louis Vuitton Mens for our streetwear girls have been forerunners with this trend of providing bold coloured and textured collections onto the scene. Both brands have been able to do this because they don't follow trends but instead, their creative directors create them. One being late designer Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton Menswear who served as the creative director from 2018-2021.

Colour blocking is still a growing trend.

5 -

Expressions of Self

This trend is what I call the nonconformist and highly aware set of individuals governed by their intent to authentically be themself expressed through fashion. Not governed by fashion trends but are more so governed by thought and perspective of self. This trend described in stylistic terms would be catering to your specific lifestyle with an intentional wardrobe, taking on the stance of becoming a curator of your style in clothing and not an excessive consumer.

Embrace your uniqueness.
