I’m obsessed with charcuterie boards and here’s why you should be too
I’ve recently discovered a new obsession, and it’s on the cusp of being an unhealthy one too. Unhealthy-ish… well, not to the point of it being a cause for concern, yet anyways. How did it begin you ask? Well, it all started whilst I was perusing on Instagram, as you do, and I saw the most soul-satisfying picture ever. A table spread full of perfectly lined up charcuterie boards, with some white wine on a beautiful beach. It did something to me. Suddenly, I had an epiphany: I want a charcuterie board, I need a charcuterie board, I MUST have a charcuterie board. It’s like I finally noticed what was missing. Now that I’ve found that missing piece it’s only fair that I share it with you all.
So, here are a few reasons why you should be obsessed with charcuterie boards.
It’s Bougie on a Budget
If you're anything like me then you want to live the bougie lifestyle without actually breaking the bank. Treating yourself to some fancy cheese, olives, and wine can make you feel like a billion bucks. Chuck a throw on the living room floor, light up some scented candles, and put on Disney+, now that’s a night in. Doesn’t that sound like a dream come true?
Who doesn’t like cheese and charcuterie?
Quite frankly I love cheese and charcuterie, so the taste alone should be a selling point. You can try vegan cheese, nuts, hummus - whichever way you can make the perfect board for yourself or anybody else for that matter.
Impress your friends
This is the perfect girls’ night in vibe, have your friends over, get some wine or cocktails, and simply enjoy the night. Great way to have a chilled night with minimal effort, no cooking or ordering food. All you need is great conversation, company, and cheese, my favorite 3 Cs. You can even turn it into a games night!
Aesthetics
I don’t know about you guys but I think they’re so cute to look at it. You can spruce it up and include so many different things on the board. From tapas, antipasti, fruits, etc. you can get creative with it. The boards themselves vary in price, I recommend checking Amazon and T.K. Maxx for boards, which come in all kinds of designs. Some are rustic, others more modern and what’s great is that you can use them over and over.
It’s an experience
It can be a fun experience where you get to try different things that you might not always have the chance to try. To be honest, you might not even like all of them and that’s fine! You’re doing it for the culture. It’s an opportunity to try food from other countries, whether you’re doing it alone or with friends it’ll be something new, worth trying
